The storefront installation was our neighborhood presence for the project.

Comic book

The storefront helps us share the comic book with local residents. Selected spreads in Chinese and English are displayed on a monitor. We periodically stocked free copies of the comic book for local residents.

We also freely distributed comic books to the local community via the Chinatown Community Development Corporation (華協中心), I-Hotel Manilatown Center, Chinese Progressive Association, and Chinatown Public Health Center.

Self-guided walking tour

The public could pick up a free bilingual map to take a self-guided walking tour of places of belonging that are illustrated in the comic book. (We recommend having the comic book and the map for the tour.) Download a PDF to print your own map. We’ve given out over 100 maps every week in October.

The installation was on view from October 2020 through April 2021 at 41 Ross, an art space at 41 Ross Alley, between Grant Avenue and Stockton Street, and Jackson and Washington Streets. (Google Map)
